Into The Spotlight with the Roland AX-09
Roland joins the 80s revival and revamps the shoulder-synthesizer.
With so many bands now looking back to the 80s for inspiration, Roland have developed the Lucina AX-09 which is poised to capture the hearts of glory-loving keyboard players everywhere.
It’s very different to those 80s shoulder-synths however, it has a 37-note keyboard, weighs only 4kg and can be powered by batteries for hours on end of portable playing….
Banjo Or Freakout
Italian disco king moves to London and Banjo or Freakout take the capital by storm.
Does the name Disco Drive ring any bells? Thought now! Seriously though, Banjo or Freakout are as find as any band under the ‘punk funk’ umbrella.
There is one reason why this band haven’t ever toured with the likes of Bloc Party or the Klaxons…it’s because they’re from Italy.
The root of Banjo or Freakout’s experimentation is pop music. Listen through the fuzz and thee are songs you can lose yourself in.
With an album set for September, recorded in New York City, the buzz is already growing, and this band are set to reach international success…
Introducing the next big thing on the indie-pop scene… you might forget his name, but it won’t be for long.
Dan Mangan has one of those names you think you’ve heard before.
Mangan is an underground sound of the social networking generation. Hailing from the distant metropolis of Vancouver, word of Mangan’s talents hasn’t risen to prominence through canny media campaigns or soundtracks to advertisers’ crap. Quite simply, it’s just the type of music people want to hear. It’s acoustic folk for indie rockers who are bored by Coldplay and instantly allergic to Scouting for Girls. Essentially, this is the vast majority of human beings!
