Lower Than Atlantis | Performing Tonight | 18th May 2012
LTA @ LSC
Tonight at the O2 Academy Liverpool, Punk Rock band Lower Than Atlantis will be taking the stage as part of Liverpool Sound City 2012. The Watford based four piece first got together in 2007, and released their debut EP Bretton the following year. The bands first and second full length albums Far Q (2010) and World Record (2011) were a little more… er… on the “lighter” side!
LTA’s latest album has been recorded and is now in post production, due for release in late October 2012 through Island Records. It will be their first release on a major record label, which they were only signed to earlier this year. In an interview with NME, lead vocalist and guitarist Mike Duce claimed that since being signed to Island, “Nothing’s really changed, except we’ve got the financial backing that we didn’t have before. Previously everything we put in was our own money, money we’d begged and sweated to cobble together to make it. We’ve now got access to input from people who’ve been doing this for a long time. So it’s having the intelligence and the money.”
These guys have a pretty busy few months ahead of them, playing at multiple festivals this summer. As if Camden Crawl a few weeks back wasn’t enough, Lower Than Atlantis are performing at Slam Dunk and Download Festival in a few weeks time. Talking a little more in the present though, you can catch Lower Than Atlantis at the O2 Academy Liverpool, TONIGHT!
