Audio Technica and I Blame Coco

I Blame Coco, fronted by Coco Sumner, are the latest UK act to join Audio-Technica’s endorsee list. The band are using a variety of microphones from the company’s Artist Elite, Artist and Pro Series ranges on stage, in addition to an M3 in-ear monitor system.
One of the most promising new artists of 2010, Coco’s distinctive vocals are delivered via either AE5400 cardioid condenser or AE6100 hypercardioid dynamic microphones depending on venue, with AE2500DE dual-element microphones used for guitar cabinets and ATM350, PRO35 and PRO37 cardioid condensers employed on drums and hi-hats.
Coco and her front-of-house engineer Stuart Macaulay are the subjects of a video interview on Audio-Technica’s YouTube channel. Conducted at Manchester’s Monastery venue during a recent gig for Spotify and the 3 mobile phone network, the video is the first in a series planned by Audio-Technica for the coming months.
“We’re delighted to welcome I Blame Coco to the Audio-Technica artist roster. She’s a great talent with a truly unique voice and we look forward to working with her and the band in 2011.
“The video interview allows an insight both into her musical approach and the reasons why Stuart chose the specific Audio-Technica microphones for Coco and her musicians. This kind of online content is a useful resource for end users – professional and aspiring sound engineers and players – and we will be rolling out more video interviews with artists and producers in 2011.”
