Alkaline Trio @ Sound City this Thursday Night!
Dolphin Music on May 16, 2012
Liverpool Sound City is welcoming some great new talent onto their stages this year, some names you may not have heard of before, but we’re also expecting to see performances from bands and artists that we know well. Alkaline Trio is one of those bands!
These high-energy melodic rockers have been bringing the darkness since ‘96, with 8 studio albums, 2 Compilations and 3 EPs, Alkaline Trio have continued to amass a devoted cult following with their infectious hooks and dark lyrics.
The bands most recent album, Damnesia, was released in honour of the trio’s 15th anniversary. Damnesia features a selection of beloved fan favourites that were taken from the bands extensive catalogue, presented in an intimate, semi-unplugged format.
We can expect to hear some of the bands more popular tracks from their earlier albums, the likes of ‘Armageddon’, ‘Stupid Kid’ and ‘We’ve Had Enough’ will be welcomed additions to the set list. We’re also hoping to hear a few songs from one of the Trio’s most popular albums. Performances of ‘Calling All Skeletons’ and ‘Help Me’ from the bands 2008 album, Agony & Irony will surely be appreciated by the AT fans in Liverpool tomorrow night.

If you have seen the album artwork for the band’s 2011 album, Damnesia, then this may ring a bell. Alkaline Trio add a unique take on a Fender California acoustic to bring us their Signature Model guitar. Fender have taken the classic ‘60s-era-sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dressed it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band which can be seen on the Damnesia cover, to bring us the new, and very exciting Alkaline Trio Malibu Guitar.
