Last night I had the fortunate pleasure to be invited to see The Guillemots play an intimate gig in Manchester’s Hard Rock Cafe. With the release of the first of four studio albums this year – Hello Land – that’s correct, you heard right, FOUR ALBUMS, one can only assume they are one of the busiest bands on the scene right now.
This year’s Sound City Festival will be seeing Chigago based punk rockers Alkaline Trio take the stage of the O2 Academy tomorrow night. These guys are definitely one to watch!

Fender debuted their 2012 Select Series of Telecasters, Stratocasters and Bass guitars at the annual NAMM trade show which took place in LA earlier this year. They’re making a big, BIG fuss about these guitars, and although we haven’t yet played them for ourselves, we can only bet they’re good stuff, otherwise Fender wouldn’t have made even bigger noise with their promo trailer which taps into the mystique of the search, anticipation and desire involved in the quest for the perfect new guitar. 1994 - the highly anticipated reunion between Led Zeppelin members Robert Plant and Jimmy Page occurred on a 90 minute “UnLedded” MTV project. We’ve noticed that trending on Twitter this afternoon is a strange #RIP Guitar Hero. We believe that Activision has disbanded their Guitar Hero business unit after their Twitter announcement earlier on. This means no Guitar Hero to be released in 2011, which is sad in some ways, but with Rock Band 3, you can use Fender’s iconic Stratocaster electric guitar as it doubles as a functional Rock Band 3 controller. We saw it in LA at Winter NAMM for ourselves and were blew away with the progression from Air Guitar Hero to a becoming a Real Guitar Hero in Rockband 3.
