We’ve noticed that trending on Twitter this afternoon is a strange #RIP Guitar Hero. We believe that Activision has disbanded their Guitar Hero business unit after their Twitter announcement earlier on. This means no Guitar Hero to be released in 2011, which is sad in some ways, but with Rock Band 3, you can use Fender’s iconic Stratocaster electric guitar as it doubles as a functional Rock Band 3 controller. We saw it in LA at Winter NAMM for ourselves and were blew away with the progression from Air Guitar Hero to a becoming a Real Guitar Hero in Rockband 3.
